chrome door handle forum

can you reverse gold plating process (i am trying to reverse gold plated car emblems back to chrome finish)

I would guess you would just have to have them plated over

again in chrome. if the items were metal any you used electroplating to

put the gold on over the chrome.there might be a way to use your emblem as

the anode and adjust the voltage/amperage to just pick off the gold??? IF

your emblems are plastic and you had them sputtered in a metalization

chamber(high vacuum) I don't think it could be reversed. Just a stab in

It would be cheaper and more effective to just buy new handles

it'd probably be WAY easier to just have them re-chromed.
